Congress’s reconciliation bill passed — Here’s what comes next
Dear Advocate,
Today, Congress passed the budget reconciliation package. Despite the persistent advocacy of the cystic fibrosis community, the final bill includes harmful cuts to Medicaid and the insurance marketplace — changes that could jeopardize access to care for many people living with CF. President Trump is expected to sign the bill into law imminently.
We’re disappointed by this outcome. But we’re also incredibly proud of what this community has done.
Thousands of you took action — calling, writing, and meeting with lawmakers to share what’s at stake. In turn, your advocacy raised awareness, slowed momentum, and forced hard conversations on Capitol Hill.
While the bill passed, our fight is far from over. We'll continue working hard to share your stories about the impact of these cuts and amplify your voices to advance policies that protect and expand access to care.
Thank you for standing with us. We’re not done.
Sincerely,
Mary Dwight
