House Republicans just passed Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill — and now it’s headed to his desk.
This heartless legislation is so cruel and so callous, it’s hard to even type the words.
It will leave 17 million more Americans uninsured and force the rest of us to pay higher premiums and higher out-of-pocket medical expenses.
It will shutter rural hospitals and healthcare facilities.
It slashes SNAP benefits, ripping food off the table of families already struggling to get by.
It punishes the most vulnerable to reward billionaires.
That’s why I voted no.
But House Republicans passed this bill anyway, and the mass devastation it will cause will be felt by families everywhere.
We need to make sure the GOP feels the consequences. That starts with taking back the House next year, and that work begins today.
