John, the House just passed Donald Trump’s devastating Big Ugly Budget Bill that is going to hurt Pennsylvanians – and the rest of our nation – in so many ways.
We know that 310,000 Pennsylvanians are going to lose their Medicaid; 140,000 Pennsylvanians are going to lose their food assistance; thousands of union jobs are at risk; and here in Bucks County, 10,827 residents will lose access to Medicaid and 2,027 will lose access to food assistance, thanks to this bill. I know that this is an especially scary time; but I also want to let you know that you’re not in this alone.
Our Democratic House majority is hard at work trying to minimize the fallout from these extreme MAGA policies. Earlier this year, we passed four bills that will enshrine the Affordable Care Act into Pennsylvania law. We’ve passed legislation that would raise the minimum wage; create a Working Pennsylvanian’s Tax Credit; invest in renewable energy; fully fund our mass transit systems; and reform our cyber charter schools — because we care about ensuring that every Pennsylvanian can live a healthy and fulfilling life.
This Big Ugly Bill wasn’t the result we were hoping for, friend, but believe me when I say that my colleagues and I are more committed than ever to standing up against Trump and his MAGA extremists. As long as we hold the House, we will continue to draw the line in the sand and say no to health care cuts, no to education cuts, and no to legislation that puts billionaires over the working people.
Thank you for using your voices, contacting your representatives, and standing with us in this ongoing fight.
Respectfully, Tina Davis
