On the campaign trail last year Trump focused on one big thing: Inflation.
He promised that he would drive down prices for Americans and turn around our sluggish economy.
But when we look at the big ugly bill that is set to pass, it’s clear that Trump is breaking that promise by skyrocketing the cost of essentials for working families.
Healthcare? More expensive.
Food? More expensive.
Energy bills? More expensive.
College tuition? More expensive.
And that’s not to mention the millions who will have to go without those essentials at all, because they simply can’t afford to pay more than they already are.
The Republican Party under Trump is running the same playbook it always has: Slash taxes for their mega-rich buddies, give huge handouts to the corporations who fund their campaigns, and leave working families worse off than ever before.
If Democrats are serious about taking power back from these far-right extremists, we have to prove to working class Americans that our sights are set on bringing down the insane cost of living that so many are struggling with.
Just look at the winning campaign of Zohran Mamdani in New York, who found huge success by focusing relentlessly on affordability and offering simple, impactful ideas like making buses free and building more affordable housing.
Our job now is to make sure the American people understand the devastating effects of this ugly bill, and to pursue a bold economic agenda that working people can get behind.
Anything less and we will almost certainly fail to overcome the promises of Trump and the far-right, no matter how often they break them.
If you agree in my vision for a more affordable future and how we will get there, I’m asking for you to support my campaign today with a contribution. $5, $10, anything you can afford. Help us expose this Republican scam of a bill and build a movement that can actually deliver for working Americans.
