At the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we know from research that marginalized groups face a unique set of factors that impact mental health and suicide risk. But we also know from research that suicide can often be prevented, and that culturally competent mental health care can help.
The following mental health and suicide prevention resources focus specifically on supporting historically marginalized and underserved racial and ethnic groups. These resources can be lifesaving. We encourage you to take a look, and share them widely in your communities.
