Hi John,
In the past six months, more than 50,000 people have signed up with Run for Something because they’re thinking about running for office.
That’s 50,000 potential candidates—people ready to organize, to lead, and to fight for their communities. And many of them are asking the same question: Where do I even start?
That’s where you come in.
We’re building a team of volunteers to meet this moment. One by one, we’re talking to every prospective candidate and helping them make sense of the process, sort through their doubts, and take their first real step toward running for office.
Join us on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 PM ET for a Volunteer Training Call to learn how to support future candidates through the Run for Something 1:1 program.
If we’re going to ask diverse young progressives to do something hard—to run, to lead, to fight for their communities, we have a responsibility to make sure they don’t do it alone.
This training will walk you through:
What the 1:1 Volunteer Team does — You’ll learn how we match volunteers like you with prospective candidates to have personal, welcoming conversations that help them take the next step.
How our new candidate community platform works — We'll show you how candidates will engage with each other and our programs inside our new digital community.
The tools and resources you’ll use — From message templates to our candidate directory, we’ll walk through the systems that make outreach simple and effective.
Tips for having supportive conversations — You’ll get advice on how to listen deeply, offer encouragement, and connect candidates with the guidance they need to move forward with confidence.
Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just starting out, we encourage you to join us on Wednesday, July 9, at 7:00 pm ET. Your time, energy, and voice matter, especially now.
Hope to see you there,
Flonja Hoxha
