Dear John,
At a time when Muslim students across the country are being harassed, silenced, and even punished for speaking up on critical human rights issues, it has never been more urgent for American Muslims to have a voice in the halls of power. We need leaders who understand our communities and are unafraid to stand for justice. That’s exactly why programs like the Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) matter so deeply.
My name is Leyan Albustami, and I’m currently interning in Congresswoman Sara Jacobs’ office through CLDP. In just one month, I’ve already gained hands-on experience through attending hearings, writing memos, and conducting policy research—all while learning how the concerns of everyday people become legislative priorities.
In addition to gaining valuable legislative experience and learning the inner workings of Capitol Hill, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to join a talented and driven cohort of passionate American Muslims. Through unmatched networking and professional development sessions, we’ve had the opportunity to engage with changemakers across government and advocacy spaces—broadening our perspectives and challenging us to think more boldly about our roles in public service.
That is why I’m asking for your
[link removed] support ([link removed]) [link removed] ensure future cohorts experience the same life-changing opportunities that I have. Every dollar raised before the year’s end helps MPAC maintain stipends, training, and community-building activities. Your gift will keep doors open for young American Muslim leaders eager to make an impact on national policy.
Please consider making a zakat-eligible donation ([link removed]) —no amount is too small. The clock is ticking, and our collective investment will determine how robust CLDP can be in the coming year. Our united effort will shape the next generation of bold and effective public servants.
Thank you for your generosity, urgency, and commitment to sustaining the CLDP legacy.
Support CLDP! ([link removed])
Warm Regards,
