Hi John,
My last quarterly fundraising filing before the primary is in only 9 days. Can you chip in $3 now, so I can post a strong quarterly report, and have money to contact voters?
In my district, the town of Aberdeen has a population of 16,000.
1,000 people there are homeless.
If that’s not a clear sign our housing system is broken, I don’t know what is. When 1 in 16 people in a town are homeless, it’s time to reexamine how we’re doing things.
I’m a renter myself, and my rent has gone up a lot in the last few years. I’ve volunteered with the Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee, which formed a couple years ago after a landlord bought a low-income building and evicted everyone so he could increase rents. Since then, two of those former tenants have died, homeless.
Housing is life or death, and it’s one of the issues I care about most.
The federal government needs to invest billions of dollars in helping local governments build the housing they need, so everyone in our district — and the country — is guaranteed a place to live.
If you agree with this vision for an America without homelessness, please contribute $3 now, so I can win this seat and fight for housing for all in Congress:
