** Race + Power Weekly
------------------------------------------------------------

These past few months, we have seen so many threats impacting the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, birthing people, and many others. It’s crucial to examine the lessons we are learning from this moment from those who are most affected. In this week’s newsletter, we take a look at the lessons from the ground.

First, in an interview with Angela Doyinsola Aina, the founder of the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, we look at what maternal health solutions are needed ([link removed]) . Next, Zane McNeill sheds light on the continued threat to LGBTQ+ communities—and what nonprofit leaders need to know ([link removed]) . Then, an article by Ishell Linares that looks at how immigrant communities show up ([link removed]) in times of crisis and the prevailing lessons of the LA fires. Finally, in a story published on World Refugee Day, Angely Mercado explains how the climate crisis and refugee crisis intersect ([link removed]) , as
many continue to be displaced due to a lack of action on climate change.
