Tear gas is banned by the Geneva Convention in war, but American police can still use it on civilians.

Sign the petition: ban tear gas now!

As a neuroscientist, I believe that toxic tear gas should never be used on American civilians.

Damaging the lungs of protesters seeking racial justice is reckless in the middle of a pandemic. And the CDC warns that in large doses, it can even cause blindness, respiratory failure, and death.

That’s why I support the new proposal from Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mark Takano, and Jesus Garcia to BAN police from using chemical weapons. Will you sign on today?

I have joined peaceful protests, marches, and vigils to declare that Black Lives Matter and demand police reform.

Every day, we are at risk of chemical warfare. Tear gas has filled the streets of cities across the nation, even in residential areas.

Banning tear gas is just one of the steps we need to take to demilitarize the police. Will you take action today?

Thanks for standing up!
