John,
The federal minimum wage was created in 1938 to ensure workers could earn a living wage and allow them to live with dignity.
Since then, it has been raised 22 times, but has remained at $7.25 for the last 16 years—the longest period in American history without an increase.
$7.25 is way too low, especially as prices keep rising. We need a government that helps build an economy that rewards work, not just wealth. Raising the minimum wage is part of that.
That’s why Chris Deluzio is co-sponsoring the Raise the Wage Act, which would finally increase the minimum wage to $17 per hour. This much-needed raise would benefit nearly 22 million Americans—including nearly 68,000 Pennsylvanians—and improve the quality of life for hardworking people.
We want to show that this bill has nationwide support. So John, can you add your name as a Citizen Co-Sponsor of the Raise the Wage Act and show that PA supporters are demanding Congress raise the minimum wage?
Thank you,
Team Deluzio
