Take Action: Protect the Freedom to Food and Health
advocate,

The American Dream includes the right to access healthcare and put food on the table.

We need you to tell your Congress member to vote NO on The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which is on the House floor for a debate and vote this morning.

Key harmful provisions include:
* Cutting $267 billion from the SNAP food program over the next 10 years, which means fewer people can get help buying food.
* Making it harder to get health care through Medicaid. Struggling Americans will face even more obstacles to health insurance, especially those who don’t have the time, money, or support to meet new requirements.
* Charging more fees to immigrant Americans. The bill adds new costs to apply for asylum, work papers, and other forms that immigrants need to live and work here safely.

What you can do:
Call your representative in Congress THIS MORNING. Ask them to vote NO on The One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

We’ve included a sample script below to help you know what to say.

📞 Call Script: Urge Your Representative to Vote NO on the Reconciliation Bill
Hello, my name is [Name]. As a constituent from [City, State], I’m calling to urge [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to vote NO on The One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This is a dangerous bill that would slash funding for vital programs like SNAP and Medicaid and make it harder for families like mine to get the support we need.

We do NOT need more barriers to food, health care, or stability. Will [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] commit to voting NO on this harmful and unjust bill?
Why this matters to our community:
Our AANHPI communities include many immigrant families and low-income households who depend on these programs to meet basic needs. According to AAPI Data ([link removed]) :
* 1 in 9 Asian Americans and 1 in 6 Pacific Islanders live below the Federal Poverty Level.
* Over 1.7 million Asian Americans and 72,000 Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders qualify for federal support programs.
* Almost 1 in 10 Asian Americans and 1 in 4 Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders get food help from SNAP.
* Almost 1 in 7 Asian Americans and 1 in 5 Pacific Islanders use Medicaid to get health care.
* More than 1 in 4 Asian American children and 4 in 10 Pacific Islander children rely on free or reduced school lunches.

America is walking back on its promise to the American Dream.
