Friends, Donald Trump isn’t interested in foreign policy, unless you mean his foreign policy of scouting Eastern European singles on questionable websites. He’s interested in foreign payoffs, though. Oh boy, does he love those.
Whether a cool new Qatari jet totally not for him but the presidency, even though he said he’s keeping it after he leaves office which means the opposite of “not for him.” Or an undisclosed Chinese bank account. Or Saudis renting out the top floors of his former bed-bug filled DC hotel, and curiously leaving the rooms empty. Whatever could they have been up to?
Then there’s Benjamin Netanyahu. Now here’s some foreign policy in which Trump’s taken a keen interest. Bibi, you see, is willing to do whatever it takes to stay in office, because he has this small, little, nuisance-y issue similar one that’s bedeviled Trump. No, not sociopathy, lying, incompetence or racism—though, yeah, he’s all that too.
No, the part where he’s indicted for criminal-like behavior. And not just general criminal stuff, but some of Trump’s favorite things! (This is crying out to be an Oprah segment). Bribery, fraud, breach of trust, Trump’s a freakin pioneer in these areas!
It’s almost like Netanyahu read “Art of the Deal!”

So, Bibi and Trump are like blood brothers (well, not really blood, because Bibi’s Jewish and, ya know, Trump has some rules about these kinds of things). Or maybe we should call them bosom bodies?

The point is, they’re buds who are in very similar situations. So, let’s go through the deal you’re not hearing about on cable news, because corporate media…how do I say it..oh right, sucks.
After Bibi bombed Iran in what many believe was an unprovoked escalation, and unproven claims of enriched uranium, Trump backed off his very public and constant campaign pledge not to get us into any more wars.
He decided, instead, to treat Iran like Mike Pence on January 6th. Except, Iran couldn’t refuse to get into the car. Tbc, the Iranian leaders deserve zero sympathy, they’re vicious, thug-like theocrats that make The Handmaid’s Tale look like Dazed And Confused. We’re talking practicality—or lack thereof—of war here.
An additional point, the majority of Americans hate Trump, just like the majority of Israelis hate Netanyahu. They’re both corrupt failures, who left their own people vulnerable to horrific disease (COVID) and horrific attacks (October 7th). Both are using anti-majoritarian measures to stay in power and continue to harm their people.
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program. After bombing Iran, against the wishes of his (alleged) sponsor, Russia, and many high profile members of his base, Trump very publicly demanded that Israel end its criminal prosecution of Netanyahu. Why?

Trump won’t say, but he decided for reasons unbeknownst to anyone that it’s just bonzo important to get involved in the domestic politics of another country. For completely selfless reasons, of course, as is Trump’s way. Always giving, that one.
Which is why he threatened to pull aid from Israel if they continue to prosecute the indicted Netanyahu. Here are Trump’s lucid thoughts, per usual:
He is a war hero, a prime minister who did a fabulous job with the United States to bring great success in getting rid of the dangerous nuclear threat in Iran..How is it possible the prime minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a courtroom all day, over nothing..The United States spends billions of dollars a year, far more than on any other nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this
Ok, seriously: Trump never does anything without personally benefitting. Never. He wouldn’t help Barron if he were indicted unless Melania paid him. So what is Bibi doing for Trump?? How is Bibi bribing/protecting Trump’s power, because that’s the only way Trump opens his mouth on something like this.
Again, Bibi is on trial for corruption, bribery, and breach of trust. And he tried to dismantle Israel’s courts to stay out of jail. Very Orban-esque, you might say. So Trump isn’t calling off Israeli prosecutors out of the kindness of his spray-tanned, three-quarter-pounders-with-a-large-fries-soaked heart. He wants two things:
A photo op at the White House to show his strength—Bibi coming to his place.
Netanyahu is reportedly begging for a White House meeting. And it makes Trump look presidential to do it, and have Bibi say how great he is, with his numbers not the toilet, so much as an overflowing port-a-potty that hasn’t been cleaned since early May.Public support—and likely campaign cash—from pro-Netanyahu, pro-occupation billionaires.
You know the ones: Not most Jews. But a few Far-Right lunatics with way-too-much money who bankroll the Far-Right in both countries (One of them may rhyme with Raid-Uhl-Sun).
So let’s follow the smoke trail:
Trump changes his tune on bombing Iran (despite once claiming he was the one who could “bring peace”).
Netanyahu drops hints that Trump’s reelection would “save Israel.”
Trump intervenes in a foreign criminal prosecution on behalf of a dictator-adjacent pr*ck.
Bibi gets a chance to bury his corruption trial.
Trump gets a propaganda win, donor cash, and another foot inside the authoritarian alliance.

The love that dare not speak its name
This isn’t diplomacy—it’s a mob deal. A “You scratch my back, I’ll crush your prosecution” kinda thing. Where the hell are Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky when you need ‘em? And also, by the way, it’s dangerous as hell.
This kinda grift is pretty obvious to anyone with eyes—which is to say, the entire world—which is why Zelensky won’t tell Trump anything, NATO hates/distrusts Trump and dictators cozy up to him like he’s a used torture chamber where the blood’s still warm.
Trump’s ludicrously corrupt behavior damages US credibility, intelligence-gathering and our overall defense. That’s not just corrupt—it’s treason-adjacent. Or, call me old fashioned, but just GD f*king treason.
And it’s not happening in the shadows. It’s all right out in public.
The corporate press barely blinks, unless someone offers one of them a book deal, of course. Congress yawns, because Trump owns all Republicans and Mike Johnson has son-porn to monitor. And the American people? They need to know just how debased this SOB is, but who is going to tell them?
So let’s get to brass tacks here ask the real questions we’re all thinking: How many bombs will Trump trade for a pardon? How many allies will he sell out to save his own skin—or for another jet plane? How many authoritarian strongmen will Trump empower just to keep himself out of prison?
Bibi knows how this game works. He’s an expert, as he’s been playing it for a long time.

Let’s make sure the rest of America knows that Trump is playing it too, if ham-handedly, before it’s too late for us to recover our democracy.
