Now, a bill that's coming up for a vote in the legislature (SB 34 - Richardson) would prevent local regulators from making rules like this one—undoing years of hard work in our fight for clean air. If it passes next week, this bill would weaken our clean air protections, undermine our public health, and increase costs for Californians already struggling with an affordability crisis.

This time is different—we need to put a stop to SB 34 to prevent it from undermining vital protections against air pollution in the places with the worst air quality. 

If legislators pass this bill into law, it would shift costs to the state, weaken air quality protections, and ultimately cost California taxpayers millions—with less accountability for polluters.
