John,

We've watched the Trump administration make decisions that range from strange to sinister - and this one lands somewhere in the intersection of bizarre and reckless. The Trump administration is gearing up to privatize the United States Postal Service.

The postal service of all things. Under normal circumstances, this move would be cumbersome to Oregon families and cause a major disruption in commerce and information services. But right now, it's particularly catastrophic. Consider the impact on just two institutions:

* Health Care: Hospitals and care providers are relying on the USPS for deliveries of personal protective equipment, and families sheltering in place are receiving life-saving medications in the mail. A change in service could leave vulnerable populations stranded.

* Democracy: We witnessed the lines snaking through neighborhoods in the last few weeks as Americans took to the polls. With so many states adopting emergency vote-by-mail protocols, our democracy would be severely disrupted by the privatization of the USPS.

Add your name and tell Mitch McConnell to call a vote and save the United States Postal Service. Sign the petition.

We can stop this, John. Sign the petition and tell Mitch McConnell and his buddies to fully-fund the United States Postal Service, now.

Ellen
