Dear Friend,
On the Traditional Feast of the
Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, our Shepherd, Cardinal
Burke, offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for all the intentions
of the Rosary Warriors of Operation Storm Heaven, as well as for those
who submitted intentions, at the Shrine Church of Our Lady of
Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Local Catholics, some with their
families, assisted at the Traditional Latin Mass.
His Eminence began the homily by
greeting:
“In a special way, all those who
take part in Operation Storm Heaven, affectionally called Rosary
Warriors, those who are offering, every day the prayer of the Holy
Rosary for the needs of the Church and the world, in these times, in
which there is so much turmoil, so much rebellion before God, so much
need of His forgiveness and healing grace, which He gives to us in the
Church, from His Most Sacred Heart.”
“I thank especially the Rosary
Warriors for the wonderful Spiritual Bouquet which was presented to me
on my 50th anniversary. Deeply grateful to you for
your prayers. I urge you to continue to pray for me.”
Meditation on the Month of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus
and the July 1 Feast Day of His Most Precious Blood.
“We know Our Lord bled profusely
throughout His Passion. The terrible scourging at the Pillar, the
crowning of thorns. But the ultimate sign of the outpouring of this
entire being for us was after He had died on the Cross, He committed
His side to be pierced, His heart to be pierced by the spear of a
Roman soldier. And St. John is careful to report, there poured forth
an abundance of water and blood. This he wanted us to have as a
perpetual sign that He would be always alive for us.”
“The blood of Jesus, of course, is
a very powerful sign, is His heart itself, in which the blood flows.
We speak of His blood as the price of our redemption. The outpouring
of His life is what was necessary for us to be restored to life, to be
restored to communion with God, already on this earth. And the
perfection of that communion of death and its consummation on the last
day.”
“Let us in a special way pray
during this month that the sanctifying grace represented by the blood
of Jesus will cleanse our souls of all sin, purify our souls and at
the same time, it will fill our souls with that sevenfold gift of the
Holy Spirit by which we love God with a whole mind and heart, whole
being.”
