*The ADA Turns 35!*

July marks the 35th anniversary of the ADA! The ADA became law in 1990. The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in many areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and many public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

As we celebrate 35 years of the ADA, we encourage you to share your stories of how the ADA has impacted your life using #ThanksToTheADA on social media! Don't forget to use alt-text and captions for any images and videos you share.

*Disability Pride Month*

Disability Pride Month is here! As we begin our month-long celebration about people with disabilities, we want you to know that people with disabilities have protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Visit the ADA National Network website [ [link removed] ] to learn more about your rights and/or responsibilities under the ADA.

As a reminder, Disability Pride Month is different from Pride Month, which is celebrated in June. Disability Pride Month celebrates people with disabilities. Learn more about the Disability Pride Month flag and colors in this article from Good Housekeeping [ [link removed] ].
