Dear John,
The U.S. House of Representatives is about to vote on a massive budget bill that will take away health care and food assistance from at least 17 million people, including adult and child survivors of violence and abuse.
If this bill passes, it would cut $1 trillion from Medicaid and have the ripple effect of increasing health care costs for all Americans, while also taking away SNAP (nutrition and food assistance) from some of the most vulnerable. This bill just passed the Senate yesterday.
Our families deserve better. |
 |
The House of Representatives is debating the bill right now and could vote tonight or tomorrow.
Please call the Capitol switchboard right now, 202-224-3121, and ask to be connected to your Representative's office. Tell them to stand with survivors, seniors, women and their families and tell your Representative to vote NO on H.R. 1.
Sincerely,
Kiersten Stewart
