Yesterday, Senate Republicans passed their latest version of the Trump tax giveaway. The bill makes permanent tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, while slashing over $1 trillion from health care. The House has yet to vote on this bill, but they’re expected to pass it this week.
In practice this means Americans will delay care they need because they can’t afford it. Families will lose their savings because of a medical bill. And overall, costs associated with health care will go up while it becomes harder to access quality care. Some patients will lose their lives—deaths that were completely preventable.
I won’t sugarcoat it. I’m pissed off.
I’ve long said that California’s next governor is going to have to be a health care governor, and this week’s events in Washington make clear why. We need our state leaders across this country to be a strong line of defense against Trump’s extremism.
My campaign is focused on making life easier and more affordable for Californians—and it’s apparent that we can’t do that without standing up to Trump’s attacks on working families.
But, I can’t win this campaign and fight for families without your help. Can you chip in $5 to my campaign today?
