Hello!

Sixty-one years ago today, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into
law, a defining moment in America’s journey toward racial justice.

It didn’t happen by accident. It was the result of generations of
organizing, sacrifice, protest, and courage. And in the decades since, it
has been a cornerstone of civil rights enforcement, from schools and
workplaces to housing and healthcare.

While we commemorate this milestone, we must also confront the truth: the
Trump administration has worked tirelessly to dismantle the protections
this law provides. As we have seen nationwide, extremists are continuing
that effort through the courts, state legislatures, and even Congress.

The Civil Rights Act was meant to tear down the systems of segregation and
institutional racism. But those systems are adaptive, and so must we be.

[ [link removed] ]We honor this day not with nostalgia, but with action.

The best way to protect the Civil Rights Act is to use it—and to fight for
its expansion. That means pushing for stronger voting rights protections.
It means confronting disinformation and dog-whistle politics. And it means
electing leaders who believe civil rights are non-negotiable.

[ [link removed] ]We’re able to do this work because of supporters like you. If you’re
ready to stand with BBP and push back against Trumpism and extremism, chip
in today. Your support makes all the difference.

Let’s keep marching.
