Independent projections make the stakes crystal clear: this large-scale repeal of federal clean energy and climate policy is a massive step backwards for the environment. What’s more, it delivers a catastrophic economic blow to U.S. households, industries, and global competitiveness as a whole.
This is what happens when our numbers in Congress are not strong enough to easily block or alter anti-climate legislation. You can help us build early for 2026 by chipping in a donation today – every single dollar goes toward helping to elect pro-climate members of Congress and ensuring that Americans never have to face a legislative disaster of this magnitude in the future.
Here’s what the data shows for the economic and energy impacts of the megabill:
Greenhouse gas emissions: Annual emissions will increase by 0.5 billion metric tons by 2030 and more than 1 billion metric tons in 2035, undermining decades of progress.
Energy costs for American households: The average household will pay $100 to $160 more per year in 2030. By 2035, that annual increase will jump to as much as $415.
Clean energy investment: In the next decade, a whopping $1 trillion will be lost in cumulative capital investment in U.S. electricity and clean fuels production.
Manufacturing and jobs: Over $522 billion in announced clean energy supply chain and manufacturing projects are jeopardized, along with up to 1.7 million jobs in the years to come.
Electric vehicles: Within the next 5 years, annual sales of electric vehicles will be reduced by 40% – effectively ending America’s battery manufacturing boom and clearing the way for other countries like China to lead on a global scale.
John, this is unfortunately the reality that we are forced to confront. The mere prospect of this bill becoming law has already cost good-paying clean energy manufacturing jobs across the country, with more than 90,000 clean energy jobs lost or threatened this year.
Our environment and economy can’t take any more, which is why here at SEEC PAC, we’re working to hold the line in the House and elect as many pro-climate members of Congress as possible. We deserve leaders committed to protecting American energy, innovation, economic security, and climate – and we need your help. Will you rush a donation today to help us build for 2026 and beyond?
