Fellow Kansan,
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. The U.S. House of Representatives is back in session for a special week of votes and floor activity to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill. For more information on what I'm working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media.
I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come.
Yours in service,

Over the weekend, the Senate worked to finalize and amend the One Big Beautiful Bill, a bold, family-first, pro-growth legislative package that delivers on the promises we made to the American people. Yesterday, the Senate passed the bill, and the House was immediately called back into session to do our part.
We’ll be working in Washington to get this bill across the finish line and onto President Trump’s desk. This bill puts Americans first, reduces the size of the federal government, cuts taxes for citizens of all incomes, strengthens our economy, and restores common sense in Washington. It’s exactly the kind of serious, results-oriented governing that Kansans sent us here to do.
This Friday, we celebrate the Fourth of July, our nation’s 249th birthday, and a powerful reminder of the freedom, sacrifice, and grit that define the American spirit. As we head into Independence Day, I’m more committed than ever to fighting for a government that honors those values and puts the American people first.
| | Celebrating 249 Years of Freedom | | This week, Americans from every corner of the country will come together to celebrate 249 years of freedom, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of our nation. As we gather with friends and family, fire up the grill, and watch fireworks light up the sky, let’s remember that the liberties we enjoy are the result of generations of sacrifice and hard work. I’m proud to stand with Kansans in honoring our nation’s founding and working every day to ensure the next generation inherits an America that is strong, free, and full of promise. Happy Independence Day! | | Reforming Haskell University | | Last week, I introduced the Haskell Indian Nations University Improvement Act to ensure that Haskell becomes the crown jewel it was always meant to be for Native students and Kansas. For too long, the university has been mismanaged by the Bureau of Indian Education, leading to crumbling infrastructure, inadequate resources, and a lack of accountability. Our bill would federally charter Haskell, transferring governance to a Tribal-nominated Board of Regents while maintaining federal funding and support. I am grateful to the Tribal leaders, students, staff, and alumni who helped shape this legislation and will keep working to protect Haskell’s legacy and future. | | Securing our Southern Border | | For years under the previous administration, Democrats repeatedly said we needed new federal legislation to combat illegal immigration. In reality, we just needed a President who enforced the rule of law. In May 2025, the U.S. Border Patrol released zero illegal aliens into the interior of our country—a sharp contrast to the more than 62,000 released in May 2024. Under President Trump’s leadership, our border enforcement efforts are delivering results. Encounters along the southwest border dropped 93% compared to this time last year, and our country is more secure than ever before. | | Fall Internship Application | | My first experience in Washington was as an intern for a Kansas Congressman, so I understand just how impactful a great internship can be. My Washington, D.C. office is accepting intern applications for Fall 2025! If you or a student you know is interested in applying, please visit my website before July 11 to fill out an application. | |
As the summer season begins, many Kansas families are making travel plans, preparing for time with loved ones, or seeking assistance with federal services. My offices in Washington, D.C., and Kansas are here to help. Whether you're interested in booking a tour of the U.S. Capitol, White House, or Library of Congress, need assistance with passports or a federal agency, or want to request an American flag flown over the Capitol, we’ve got resources available.
We’re also proud to assist Kansas veterans with accessing benefits and resolving issues with the VA. You can find helpful information and request services anytime at mann.house.gov, or feel free to call one of my offices in Washington, Manhattan, or Dodge City. My team and I are here to serve you.

Dairy Farmers of America
Dairy is essential to American agriculture and nutrition. I appreciated the chance to sit down with Dairy Farmers of America, a farmer-owned co-op based in Kansas City that represents thousands of dairy families across the country. We discussed ways to support dairy producers through pro-growth tax policies, including my support for increasing the Section 199A deduction and making it permanent. We also talked about expanding the agricultural workforce and the importance of passing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act to give schools the flexibility to serve the milk options that kids want and parents trust. Thanks for the meeting!

North American Renderers Association
Rendering is a critical part of the agricultural supply chain that helps producers decrease waste, create value from byproducts, and support a more sustainable food system. I appreciated the opportunity to speak with the North American Renderers Association in Washington this week about the need to continue expanding trade markets and ensure American agriculture stays competitive on the world stage. Kansas producers play a vital role in turning byproducts into valuable resources that help feed the world, reduce waste, and strengthen the ag economy. Thank you for all you do to support rural communities and American agriculture.

National Association for Fixed Annuities
Annuities are an important financial tool for providing stability and guaranteed income during retirement, especially as more Americans seek reliable options beyond traditional pensions. I met with the National Association for Fixed Annuities to discuss ways to strengthen retirement security through expanded access to fixed annuities. We talked about creating tax incentives for lifetime income products, allowing rollovers for in-service annuity purchases, and simplifying federal rules to help Americans better prepare for retirement. I’ll keep working to make sure every Kansan has access to the tools they need to retire with confidence.

Clean Fuels Alliance
We need an all-of-the-above energy approach that promotes American energy dominance instead of picking winners and losers. I met with the Clean Fuels Alliance to discuss the importance of strengthening America’s biofuels sector. We also talked about the Renewable Fuel for Ocean-Going Vessels Act, which I cosponsor, and the need to ensure tax policies like the 45Z credit work for domestic producers. Homegrown renewable fuels are essential to lowering costs for consumers, increasing American energy security, and supporting rural economies. Thanks for sitting down with me!

Associated Builders and Contractors
I sat down with the Associated Builders & Contractors to talk about sound policies to strengthen the construction workforce. We discussed apprenticeship opportunities for Kansans and the need to repeal Biden-era mandates like the Project Labor Agreement rule. I’m proud to cosponsor the Fair and Open Competition Act to protect merit-based construction and help ensure taxpayer-funded projects are completed on time and on budget. Thanks for meeting with me!
