Here's to all the gun safety dads in our lives. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

John –

Dads are role models, confidants, coaches, and they can be the person that prevents "family fire" — or death or injury from a shooting involving an improperly stored or misused gun in the home.

This year, Father’s Day falls on another important day: ASK Day . ASK stands for Asking Saves Kids. ASK Day falls on the first day of summer each year. Today, we celebrate the dads and other father figures in our lives who ensure safe firearm storage and always ask, "Is there an unlocked gun in the home?"

Every day, 8 children and teens are unintentionally injured or killed due to family fire. About 4.6 million kids in America live in a home with an unlocked, loaded gun. Responsible parents and gun owners are crucial in ending family fire. This year, ASK Day is more important than ever, as social distancing means that many kids are at home with parents working and less supervised time.

We set a Father's Day and ASK Day goal of raising $25,000 by midnight. But we’re still falling $4,311 short of goal. We’re a grassroots organization and can’t make up the difference without you:

So please, John: Today, in honor of Father's Day and ASK Day , will you give now — every dollar counts – to support our work to prevent family fire tragedies? [[link removed]]

There are dads who make it a priority to ask about access to guns in the home, wherever their child is going to play. There are gun-owning dads who always store their guns locked, unloaded, and out of reach from children and those who should not have access to firearms. There are dads that continue the conversation about responsible gun ownership with family, friends, and community members.

Brady is working every day across Congress, courts, and communities to educate about safe firearm storage and advocate for common-sense solutions to prevent tragedies. Today, for ASK Day and Father’s Day, please support our work to prevent gun violence and save lives. Your donation will support our lifesaving work to promote safe firearm storage and ensure children do not have access to firearms at home.
