Friend,
I’m sounding the alarm about Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” While it passed the Senate by a razor-thin margin yesterday, it now returns to the House for a final vote.
I am fighting this with everything I have. As it stands, this bill, if signed into law, would be the largest wealth redistribution from the working class to the rich in history – giving billionaires huge tax breaks while stripping vital programs including Medicaid and SNAP from those who need it most.
Here’s what I’m doing from my position in the House to stop it:
- I’ve introduced an amendment to the bill to stop in its tracks if its passage results in workforce reductions, lost job opportunities, or impacts collective bargaining rights.
- I’ve signed onto amendments that would undo the worst elements of this bill – including protections for Medicaid and SNAP, community health centers, quality programs for students, a robust Child Tax Credit, and Clean Energy Tax Credits.
I won’t stop until this bill works for struggling families, not against them. You can bet that it makes me a Republican target.
