Legislating for the Lowcountry:

Here’s what we’ve been working on in Washington:

Restoring Biological Truth in Government Act

We introduced the Restoring Biological Truth in Government Act, a bill which ensures all federal forms recognize only two biological sexes: male and female, nothing else. Our legislation stands strong alongside President Trump’s executive orders, prioritizing common sense and truth over ideological delusions.

The VA Flood Preparedness Act

We reintroduced the bipartisan VA Flood Preparedness Act to protect veterans’ medical care from flood threats and rising sea levels. This bill empowers the VA to work directly with local governments on flood mitigation efforts and requires reporting to Congress, ensuring veterans’ access to care is never compromised by extreme weather.

Expedited Removal Expansion Act

We are taking a hard stand against illegal immigration with the introduction of our Expedited Removal Expansion Act of 2025. This bill gives federal immigration officers the power to remove any illegal alien, on the spot, no matter how long they've been. We're backing President Trump and his bold America First agenda to restore law and order and put American citizens first.

Big Votes on the House Floor

H. Res. 516 - “Condemning the violent June 2025 riots in Los Angeles, California” passed the House 215 to 195. We voted YES to this resolution which condemns the violent riots in Los Angeles and stands firmly with the brave men and women in law enforcement who risk their lives to keep us safe. It’s simple: back the blue, restore order, and hold violent criminals accountable, no excuses.

H.R. 275 – “Special Interest Alien Reporting Act” requires Homeland Security to report monthly how many high-risk foreign nationals are caught crossing the border illegally. It passed the House 231 to 182. We voted YES to ensure transparency and protect national security.

H.R. 875 – “Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act” is a bill which changes immigration law to make sure any non-citizen who commits or is convicted of a DUI or DWI can be denied entry to the U.S. or deported. It passed the House with bipartisan support, 246 to 160. We voted YES because we believe those who endanger lives by driving under the influence should not be allowed to stay in or enter the country. If you’re a non-citizen who drives drunk and puts Americans at risk, you don’t belong here.

H.R. 3944 – “Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026” is a bill which provides funding for military bases, construction projects, and services for our veterans in the next fiscal year. Rep. Nancy Mace voted YES because supporting our troops and veterans is a top priority. The bill passed 218–206.

Committee Work

We chaired a hearing titled "Preparing for the Quantum Age: When Cryptography Breaks" in the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation. We emphasized the urgent need to develop post-quantum cryptography to protect U.S. cybersecurity, remain globally competitive, and defend federal systems from data breaches. The U.S. must lead in advancing this critical technology.

In the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs we participated in a hearing to strengthen the Transition Assistance Program, ensuring service members have the tools they need to succeed after active duty. We emphasized modernizing TAP through technology and data-driven solutions to deliver personalized, effective support for every veteran entering civilian life.

Highlights from recent media appearances and interviews:

Fox News: We spoke with Fox News about President Trump’s role in preventing a nuclear Iran and the success of a flawless military operation.

Newsmax – We made it clear on Newsmax: our trust is with President Trump, he has been right all every single time. We also called out the fake news, criticized Zohran Mamdani's radical agenda, and exposed Democrats for doubting Trump’s decisive strikes on Iran.

The Evening Edit – We went on Fox News' The Evening Edit to call out the Biden autopen scandal because the million-dollar question still remains: If Biden was president, who was really calling the shots and running our country? The American people deserve answers.

Fox News - We spoke with Fox News about President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill which delivers on his promise to put American families, workers, and taxpayers first.

ABC News 4 - We sat down for an interview to discuss our Restoring Biological Truth in Government Act, which ensures federal forms reflect biological reality, male and female only.

We’ve been busy across the Lowcountry:

⭐Our office has resolved more than 12,000 constituent cases since 2021. We always put the Lowcountry first!

We submitted a strong letter of support backing Chief Doug Wright and the Summerville Police Department’s application for the COPS Hiring Program Grant. This crucial funding would put more officers on the streets and keep Summerville families safe.

In response to rising gun violence and rapid growth in Berkeley County, we helped secure a $500,000 grant for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department to increase staffing and strengthen public safety. We’re backing the blue and doing whatever it takes to protect Lowcountry families.

We met with Charleston County Sheriff Carl Ritchie and his team to discuss their priorities, get a firsthand look at their equipment, and reaffirm our commitment to helping them get the tools and support they need to keep the Lowcountry safe and secure.

LAW AND ORDER!

We met with Charleston County leaders who are fighting for Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) designation and we’re with them every step of the way. From public safety to disaster readiness, we're teaming up with DHS and county leaders to deliver the resources the Lowcountry needs to stay safe and prepared.

We stopped by the USS Yorktown for a field day with the American Radio Relay League.

We toured Charleston International Airport and went behind the scenes with Adam Stahl from TSA to discuss future plans and how we’re keeping travel safe for Lowcountry families.
