Every day that passes Brand New Congress candidates are gaining more momentum. In the past few weeks we’ve seen a flood of endorsements for BNC candidates from former Democratic presidential contenders.

Julián Castro, Elizabeth Warren, Tom Steyer AND Bernie Sanders have endorsed BNC candidate Charles Booker. Booker is running in Kentucky to unseat Mitch McConnell in what is gearing up to be a stunning upset. While the establishment has been shoveling cash at pro-Trump Democrat Amy McGrath, Booker is running on a bold platform of Medicare for All and a Federal Jobs Guarantee, proving that you don’t have to run to the right to win in Kentucky.

In the NY-16 race, Both Elizabeth Warren AND Bernie Sanders have endorsed BNC candidate Jamaal Bowman over incumbent Rep. Eliot Engle. Like Booker’s race, Jamaal has garnered national attention as one to watch this Tuesday, with recent polls showing he is poised to win!

These endorsements signal that former presidential candidates understand it’s going to take more than the presidency to make true progress. If we’re going to pass a Green New Deal and Medicare for All, it’s going to take strong leadership and a deep commitment to change in Congress itself.
