John,
It’s official. Senate Republicans have voted for Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, forcing through this horrendous bill before a completely made-up deadline set by Trump.
Senate Republicans have approved the largest ever cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in American history. Let that sink in.
If this bill becomes law, 16 million Americans will lose their health insurance, hundreds of rural hospitals will close, and working-class people will become sicker, poorer, and more in debt. All of this is happening so that the wealthiest Americans can get more tax breaks they don’t need.
This bill is cruel, reckless, and just plain wrong.
I am appalled by the process we witnessed. Instead of listening to the people they represent, Republicans in Congress have chosen to hide from accountability. Every lawmaker who supports this bill owes the American people an explanation – and should have to look families in the eye and justify the harm they’ve unleashed.
Mark my words: I will fight this bill with everything I have in the House.
It’s not too late to defeat this bill, and I am ready to tap in. I will be on the House floor, fighting for you and for the future of our nation. Will you support me in standing up for our communities and holding Republicans accountable by chipping in $5 today?
