is a huge victory for equality.

This past week, the Supreme Court ruled that LGBTQ+ workers are protected against discrimination in the workplace under a key provision of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  No longer can employers fire LGBTQ+ workers just because of who they are or who they love.

This is a huge victory in our fight for equality, and it’s one worth celebrating — especially during Pride Month — but there’s still work to do.

The workplace was just one component of our fight for equality.  More than half of the states in the U.S., including Texas, still don’t provide full nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ Americans.

I’m an original co-sponsor of a measure that would codify full and equal protections for the LGBTQ+ community under the law, amending the Civil Rights Act to extend these protections to health care, housing, education, and more.

I helped advance this important measure through the House with bipartisan support—but that was more than a year ago and it still sits in the Senate.

Our fight isn’t over.  This month and every month, we need to keep fighting together for equality for all.  Add your name today and show your support for full and equal protections for the LGBTQ+ community.

Together, we can do anything,
