John, this email is gonna be a bit long, because I wanna tell you a story.
I left college in 2008. And you know what else happened? A recession.
I felt like, just as my life was getting started, the world around me was crumbling.
So my dad convinced me to get involved in my community. I found my path, and it led me to become an organizer, a State Senator, and now, a candidate for Congress.
But John, I’m not running for a promotion. I’m running because even though we might not be in a recession, the deck is still stacked against working people like us.
Families can’t put food on the table. College grads are drowning in debt. Workers are more productive than ever, yet their wages stay flat.
I know what this struggle is like because I too have lived it. And that’s why I’m running for Congress: because everyone working hard deserves to live a dignified life, not just survive.
But the special interests want nothing more than to preserve the status quo, because this current system is working for them. And they’re ready to spend whatever it takes to crush our movement and stop this campaign from entering Congress.
Anyone who’s struggled knows: you don’t make it out alone. You make it out by leaning on your community. So I’m asking you to join the community of people powering this campaign, and to give what you can to help the entire working community one more representative who gets it.
So please, will you rush $27 to fund our fight for an economy and government that works for people like us, not billionaires? >>
