Economic Democracy Weekly

In today’s Economic Democracy Weekly, we examine ways economic justice groups are building a more just future. First, an Economy Remix article profiles a multi-decade solidarity economy–building story from Los Angeles. Following that, we conclude our three-part series, Saving Philanthropy: Creating Rules of the Road for Donor-Advised Funds with an article by longtime nonprofit leader Jon Pratt on what a sensible regulatory framework to get DAF dollars to nonprofits efficiently might look like. Lastly, from a joint Shelterforce-NPQ webinar on social housing, we offer two contributions: Author Jonathan Tarleton talks about where housing fits in a broader ecosystem of social supports and community organizer Kristen Hackett discusses how to build the movement that can create sustainable affordable housing.
