Senate votes to defund Planned Parenthood for one year
The U.S. Senate voted 51-49 on Tuesday to pass the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” a budget reconciliation bill which includes the defunding of abortion providers like Planned Parenthood for one year. Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote.
The U.S. House narrowly passed its version of the bill in May, which included the defunding of Planned Parenthood for 10 years. Because the Senate made changes to the bill, the legislation will now return to the House, where it is expected to face challenges.

Planned Parenthood closes facility in Cleveland, Ohio
Planned Parenthood has closed a facility in Cleveland, Ohio, citing the temporary freezing of Title X funds by the Trump administration due to possible violations of a Trump executive order.
According to WKYC, in a Sunday morning message to its donors, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio CEO Erica Wilson-Domer announced the closing of Cleveland Health Center, saying one of the “driving factors” behind the closure is the Trump administration’s temporary freezing of its Title X funds. Planned Parenthood will continue to operate three other facilities in the same county — Old Brooklyn, Rocky River, and Bedford Heights — in addition to facilities in the cities of Akron, Canton, and Kent.
