July 1 - Today the Senate voted 51-50 with JD Vance breaking the tie to pass Trump's fossil fueled fascist budget bill. Three Republicans — Susan Collins, Thom Tillis & Rand Paul — voted against it. No Democrat voted in favor.
As we've been telling you for weeks and in an extensive series of emails and posts over the weekend, the Senate version of the bill is even worse than the House version. There were a few last minute changes, but overall it's the same evil, corrupt, dangerous bill we've been telling you about all along. It will kill American citizens, starve children, destroy the climate, and give the regime a massive secret police force with which to arrest, deport, or disappear anyone they dislike without due process.
Attention now shifts back to the House, where the bill passed just before Memorial Day with exactly one vote to spare. Initial reports are that the House is unhappy with the Senate's changes, though not always for reasons we can condone (wanting more cruelty and suffering in the bill is not a good reason to vote no). But it does indicate that there's still time and opportunity to stop the bill.

Quick recap since, our previous posts and emails had a lot more detail: The House voted just before Memorial Day to pass this bill with exactly one vote to spare, and now the Senate has done the exact same thing after a marathon process that ran all weekend and overnight Monday-Tuesday.
There were a few last minute changes today on top of the ones we told you about earlier: Including a softening of some of the provisions intended to kill renewable energy (they will now be mortally wounded and die over the course of one year, instead of being snapped out of existence immediately); and there's an extra $50 million for rural hospitals who will be absolutely devastated by the cuts to healthcare – again, some institutions will be able to stay open for a few more weeks or months, but none will survive. Overall it's the same evil, corrupt, dangerous bill we've been telling you about all along.
Call your member of Congress right now and tell them to vote no on the Budget Reconciliation package. You can use our toll-free line for a little update and briefing, or just call the congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to vote NO on the budget reconciliation bill!
Thanks for all you do,
