News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:

The Latest on Reconciliation

My colleagues and I continue to have some “intense fellowship” in the House of Representatives over the Budget Reconciliation bill. From the start, I’ve been clear: I’m committed to passing a bill that delivers for the American people—one that cuts taxes, reduces the deficit, rolls back the Green New Scam subsidies, and reforms Medicaid so taxpayer dollars go to the truly vulnerable, not able-bodied adults who can work.

We’re watching the Senate closely to see how their reconciliation product stacks up against the House version we passed a few weeks ago. We must get this right, and math has to add up.

Debt Milestone Reached—And It’s Alarming

Back in November, our national debt hit $36 trillion. Now, just months later, it has reached an astonishing $37 trillion. The pace of this growth is unsustainable, and it confirms what many of us already know: Washington has a spending problem.

This level of fiscal irresponsibility threatens the future of our Republic. For the sake of our children, our economy, and the strength of our republic, we must get serious about cutting spending. I’m working every day to hold the line, because the American people deserve better.

End the Inflation Reduction Act

The Texas Hill Country is under siege from a wave of industrial-scale energy projects propped up by federal subsidies — threatening the region’s beauty, rural character, and natural resources.

The push to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act has been central to the Big Beautiful Bill negotiations. Unfortunately, the Senate has backslid on its responsibility to slash the harmful subsidies embedded in the IRA.

Last week, alongside a few of my colleagues, we released an op-ed in Newsweek defending President Trump’s position on ending the Inflation Reduction Act and pushing for Congressional Republicans to meet the moment and terminate the Inflation Reduction Act. You can read it here.

Successful Border Policies Equal a Safer America

Recently, the Department of Homeland Security released new data further displaying the effectiveness of the Trump administration's immigration and border policies. In May 2025, not a single illegal alien was released into the United States. Compared to last year, there were 64,000 illegal aliens released into the United States.

Thank you to all the ICE officers in TX-21 and all throughout the country for cleaning up our streets and enforcing the law.

Welcoming a Hero Home
Last week, Team Roy joined the Kerrville community to welcome Sergeant Chris Leverkuhn and his family into their new home courtesy of Homes for Our Troops.

God bless the Leverkuhn family as we are so grateful to have them in TX21.
