John,
It's been one week since Zohran Mamdani shocked billionaires, corporate Super PACs, and career politicians with his resounding victory for our grassroots progressive movement in New York City’s Democratic primary for mayor – confirmed as a 12-point blowout in today’s final count!
Zohran proved what Justice Democrats has been saying for years: We CAN take on bigger, bolder fights against the corporate Democratic establishment AND win — if we’re brave enough to run on bold progressive values and a clear economic vision for working class people.
He stood up to the billionaires trying to run New York City with a simple yet incredibly bold agenda of lowering costs, making essential services free, and centering the working class in policymaking.
And when the political establishment backed by AIPAC tried to smear him for standing against the genocide in Gaza, Zohran didn’t back down. He kept fighting and still won.
Justice Democrats has been putting leaders exactly like that in Congress for years, and we’re thinking big in 2026.
Now, our movement must build on that energy in races across the country and root out entrenched, corporate, career politicians everywhere they refuse to fight for us.
We’ve already endorsed our first candidate of this cycle – Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s 13th district, a working class leader taking on the 10th richest Democrat in Congress.
This month has proven that a united, grassroots, progressive movement can take out the richest politicians and their richest corporate backers.
Let’s keep up this momentum and take on bigger, bolder fights against the Democratic establishment – together.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
