With summer coming to an end (boo!) and kids getting ready to head back to school, I wanted to take a moment to update you on what I’ve been working on the past few months.

Since I took office, I’ve been working non-stop to improve the lives of hard-working people in Pennsylvania and across the country.

Just like I promised on the campaign trail, I have consistently stayed above Washington drama to work across the aisle and get things done.

I worked on bipartisan health care reform that will protect people with pre-existing conditions and bipartisan gun safety laws to keep our communities safe. I proudly supported a landmark government reform bill that would fix campaign funding.

As a member of the Education & Labor Committee, I’m fighting every single day to raise the minimum wage, to make higher education more affordable, to improve safety for all workers, to help develop a strong workforce, and to pass tax laws that work for the middle class.

I’m incredibly proud to be doing my job the right way and getting things done for the people of the Lehigh Valley.

But Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have turned the Senate into a legislative graveyard, refusing to even take a vote on all the bills we worked so hard on. We can’t let them continue obstructing our democracy.

And now, Washington Republicans are flooding our district with attack ads against me, hoping to replace me with a right-wing opponent who will follow Mitch McConnell’s lead.

Friend, I wouldn’t ask if this wasn’t incredibly important. With GOP Super PACs attacking me on the airwaves, I need your help to fight back.
