Friend,
My father and I have a close relationship. From the age of 5, until I graduated high school, he would bring me to Camp Shamineau's Father/Daughter Retreat every fall. My dad was a successful business owner, running Nystrom Drug in Brainerd and Pine River, but he always took the time to go to the retreat with me.
To this day, my father is the hardest worker I know. He’s where I got my work ethic from, and he always encouraged me to dream big.
So I have. I followed in my father's footsteps by starting my own small business and also deciding to serve in local government. And now, here I am, running for Congress.
Dads and guardians play a special role in children's lives. I’m going to take today to celebrate with my dad and thank him for everything he shared with me. If you’re a dad, or you are a fatherly figure in a child’s life, thank you. And if you’re not—take today to thank someone who was that for you.
Take care,
Quinn Nystrom
