Millions will lose healthcare. Take action!
Tell your Representative to protect Medicaid and other lifesaving programs [link removed]
Friend, earlier today the U.S. Senate narrowly passed Trump’s budget bill which includes catastrophic cuts to Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and other essential services that people need to survive, recover, and thrive.
Make no mistake: this bill will cost human lives. Nearly 17 million people will lose health care. And nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid means that people struggling with addiction will no longer get the treatment and care that is proven to save lives. More of our loved ones will be lost to overdose. All to fund tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and step up immigration enforcement in the name of the drug war.
Most Americans do not support this bill, yet Trump is demanding that lawmakers pass it this week so he can sign it into law.
Now the bill goes to the House where a final vote is expected this week and could happen as early as tomorrow. It’s our last chance to stop this bill: urge your Representative to oppose it and protect Medicaid and other lifesaving programs that prevent overdose and help people struggling with addiction.

Phone calls from constituents like you are needed now more than ever. Please make a quick call to your Representative at (202) 224-3121 and you can say: I’m calling to urge my Representative to vote NO on the budget reconciliation bill and oppose its catastrophic cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential services. Medicaid is the nation's largest payer of addiction treatment. Cutting it will cost lives. This is more than a budget cut—it's a direct assault on health and overdose prevention services that help all of us live healthier and safer lives. Please oppose these cruel cuts and instead protect Medicaid, SNAP, and other services that prevent overdose and support recovery. Thank you.
Medicaid is the backbone of addiction treatment in this country. It provides critical access to medications that reduce the risk of fentanyl overdose, counseling that addresses the root causes of addiction, and inpatient care that offers people the stability they need to recover.
Americans from across the country have felt the devastating impact of addiction, overdose, and fentanyl on our loved ones. Recent declines in overdose show that access to treatment, naloxone, and other health services – often through programs like Medicaid – keep people alive and on a path towards recovery.
This bill will decimate Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential services that help prevent overdose, support recovery, and give people who use drugs the treatment and care they deserve. If passed, it will mean more red tape, more barriers, and fewer chances for people to get the care they need.

This is our last chance to speak out before it’s too late. Take action now to oppose this bill and protect the lifesaving programs that millions of Americans rely on to stay alive [link removed]
