Hi friend,

I wanted to give my sincerest thank you to everyone who supported our campaign ahead of Monday’s FEC fundraising deadline.

With each of you showing up in a big way, we were able to build on and even top our first quarter, and we are slowly but surely positioning ourselves where we can protect our seat and help our allies in other critical swing races, at a time when retaking the majority has never been more important.

Because today has once again made clear, we need the majority. Senate Republicans just passed Donald Trump’s not-so-beautiful budget bill. They didn’t even read the language in it, because it was being written on the fly, but here’s what you need to know:

Thanks to Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans, if this bill passes:

1 in 4 nursing homes will close. Without Medicaid, only the wealthy seniors who can reverse-mortgage or sell estates will live out their years comfortably.

There will be so much regulation, red tape, and administrative burden, that millions will give up on SNAP. This will lead to massive despair, hunger, and even grocery theft.

$1 TRILLION in health care will be cut from people who can least afford it. In fact, in our district alone, this will gut Medicaid from 152,483 of my neighbors in IL-17, including 66,000 children and 10,000 seniors.
This is not political, friend. It’s immoral.

This is cruel and unusual punishment of everyday people, an abandonment of our communities, and a betrayal to working families everywhere who are already struggling with high costs. We need to expand access to health insurance, basic care, and nutrition, not gut it.

I have made clear from the moment this was proposed that I am a “HELL NO” on this bill. And with Republicans trying to jam this back through the House, this is our last, best chance to stop it. But I need your voice, team, now more than ever.
