AFSCME Family,
The Senate has passed its version of the so-called “big, beautiful bill,” making even deeper cuts to Medicaid and other vital services, all to pay for billionaire tax breaks.
If this bill becomes law, 20 million people will lose their health care. Millions of people will lose food assistance. Public service jobs will be cut, and tens of thousands will die. We have to act now to stop it.
Call your representative right now and tell them to reject this big billionaire giveaway at the expense of working people.
Cutting Medicaid won't just affect the people who rely on it for their coverage. It will make health care more expensive and less available for everyone. Wait times will increase. Hospitals and nursing homes will close. Local economies will suffer as a result.
AFSCME members have been fighting tooth and nail to stop these cuts from going through. We've been writing and calling members of Congress, even showing up to their offices in D.C. to make our voices heard.
Now is the time we all need to take a stand. Every member of Congress must hear from their constituents: Don't cut the public services we all depend on to make the ultra-rich even wealthier.
They need to know there will be consequences for their actions.
Call your representative today. Tell them to vote NO on this dangerous budget.
In solidarity,
AFSCME
