We want to share some important announcements with you.
In response to the current environment, the Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is updating and streamlining administrative and client services. These changes reflect efforts to partner with communities, providers and agencies to make it easier to access services and to reach people who have not traditionally accessed services.
Claudia Foy, program manager, has retired after nearly twenty years of dedicated public service. Unit manager, Di Walker, who has supported ODHH in multiple roles over the past 10 years, will be leaving DSHS in July, and Steve Peck, program manager, will retire in December 2025 after 25 years of public service.
DSHS is focused on strengthening the safety net of service and support systems that are important to the well-being of our clients and the health of their communities. Washingtonians are central to all our decisions, as we strive to make government more effective and efficient.
The Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers programs and services for people that are Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, late deafened or speech disabled, and continues to promote access to services and support, care, and providing resources to people in rural communities and other underserved groups. Innovative outreach and collaboration with our communities are fueling the need to redefine how we provide client services and support individuals in their community of choice.
We now ask you to collaborate with us and become our partners on this journey. During the next year, we will work together to imagine and develop ways to improve our service delivery system.
