Jeff’s public service began early in his career when he clerked for a federal district court judge and served as an aide to the Republican Chairman of the United States Senate Armed Services Committee.
In 2003, Starling began his work as a practicing attorney, taking on tough cases and upholding the rule of law. He defended our nation’s farmers, oil and gas producers, and law enforcement officers. Jeff continued his legal work as an in-house attorney for Devon Energy and then led a business as a senior executive at an oil and gas startup. During his tenure, Jeff sharpened his business and entrepreneurial skills and went on to successfully manage large teams, create high-paying jobs, and position companies for greater success.
In 2024, Jeff was appointed to lead Oklahoma’s energy future as Oklahoma’s Secretary of Energy. He is advancing President Trump’s America First energy agenda by unlocking the state’s energy potential, fighting attacks by radical environmentalists, and cutting burdensome regulations.
Jeff is a devoted husband to Sally and a proud father of two daughters. Jeff and his family are actively involved in their local church and the Oklahoma community, leading nonprofits that support science education and the arts.
Jeff is running for Oklahoma Attorney General to be the people’s protector, bringing his legal, business, and public service experience to defend the Constitution and protect the Oklahoma way of life.
