John,
For many, Father’s Day serves as a beautiful celebration and a chance for families to come together and appreciate the father figures in their lives. However, for hundreds of thousands of individuals, Father’s Day serves as a painful reminder of mass incarceration.
Mass incarceration is a pandemic that has plagued our country well before the abolishment of the Jim Crow era. With over 2 million people currently incarcerated, prison systems across the United States must be held accountable for the civil injustices they create against marginalized communities.
It’s time to dismantle the oppressive systems that continue to disproportionately affect Black communities. Rooted in the principals of slavery and sustained by superfluous government and private funding, now more than ever our communities deserve real justice and change.
The Real Justice Team is dedicated to electing progressive, reform-minded District Attorneys whose main goal is to hold all judicial officers and legislators accountable for the unjust justice systems in our society today. But we won’t see victory if we don’t have as many people as possible supporting this fight.
We will not rest until real justice is served for all.
In solidarity,
Team RJP
