Donald Trump’s been forced to reschedule his racist rally -- and now he wants credit for retreating in shame.
Trump had to move his Tulsa, Oklahoma event that he planned on Juneteenth -- the day that marks the end of legal slavery in the U.S. The combination of the significant date along with the location of Tulsa -- site of the Black Wall Street massacre, where white rioters killed dozens of Black Americans and burned and destroyed one of the most affluent Black communities in the country -- caused Senator Kamala Harris to deem the rally “a welcome home party” for white supremacists.
A growing firestorm finally forced Trump to relent and move his rally to the next day -- a move he says will “honor” the requests of “my African American friends and supporters.” Should Trump get to do something blatantly bigoted and provacative and then get credit for acting in the best interest of his “African American friends?” We don’t think so.
