Dear John,

Most of us—whether our families came here generations ago or more recently, whether we work in offices or schools or at home—believe in the same fundamental promises: that every child deserves access to quality education, we want to live in communities where we feel safe and respected, and we want a government that responds to the needs of everyday people, not just the wealthy few.

Today, we find ourselves in a defining moment for racial justice, which is why Race Forward is hosting an intensive 4-hour virtual session on July 9 for leaders and advocates ready to respond to this moment with strategy, not retreat.

Currently, federal agents are conducting military-style raids in our neighborhoods. Racial equity programs that took years to build are being eliminated overnight. Books are being banned, history is being rewritten, and public servants who dare to advance justice are facing retaliation and threats.

If you're working for racial equity—whether inside an organization, in government, or in your community—you've probably felt the ground shifting beneath your feet. The attacks are relentless, well-funded, and designed to make us question whether this work is even possible anymore.

But here's the truth we need to remember: every major advance in racial justice has faced exactly this kind of opposition. And every time, communities have found ways to not just survive the backlash, but to emerge more strategic, more connected, and more powerful than before.

This is one of those moments.

The question isn't whether we'll face opposition—it's how we'll respond to it. Will we allow coordinated attacks to shrink our vision, or will we use this moment to get smarter, bolder, and more effective?

We believe it's time to choose the latter.

This isn't your typical training. This is an intensive strategy session for leaders who refuse to let backlash derail the work of building justice. Over four hours, you'll work directly with Race Forward President Glenn Harris and Senior Vice President Julie Nelson to develop approaches that can withstand—and overcome—organized opposition.

You'll walk away knowing how to:

✅ Strengthen your organization against external pressure and internal doubt
✅ Communicate about racial equity in ways that build support and counter misinformation
✅ Achieve concrete results even when resources are threatened and allies feel scared
✅ Connect with other leaders who are navigating similar challenges and winning

This session is for organizational leaders, equity practitioners, public sector changemakers, and community advocates who understand that this moment requires both protecting what we've built and expanding what's possible.

Whether you're just beginning to center racial equity in your work or you've been leading this charge for years, you'll leave with practical tools, renewed clarity, and the kind of strategic thinking that turns opposition into opportunity.

Here's what we know: the work of building a just, multiracial democracy doesn't stop when it gets hard. It gets more intentional.

Join us on July 9 and become part of a community that knows how to turn pressure into power.

In solidarity,

Race Forward

P.S.: This intensive session is limited to ensure deep engagement and meaningful connection. Secure your place today and join the leaders and advocates who are refusing to let backlash define what's possible.
