Dear John,

Thank you again for reading my newsletter.

As the summer approaches, I've been working hard to deliver on your priorities and represent your views on a number of crucial issues.

============================================================

I've been focused on ** delivering better access to cash and banking services ([link removed])
for people across the Borders.

After the success of the banking hub in Jedburgh, I am now seeking support for similar hubs in Eyemouth and Selkirk.

I recently presented a petition to the House of Commons on this very issue and I'm also continuing to push LINK, the national cash machine network, to provide more ATMs.

I know how vital it is for Borders residents to have easy and reliable access to cash services, so I will keep fighting to make that happen.

Every year I run Volunteer of the Year awards to recognise unsung heroes across the Borders.

It's important that we recognise the many dedicated and selfless people who go to great lengths to help others in our communities.

After a public vote, this year's awards went to ** David Shepherd ([link removed])
, Kyle McKinlay and the team at the Lavender Touch.

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations and congratulations to all the winners.

A consultation has been started by Scottish Borders Council on the independent report that considered the future of Live Borders services.

The external review put forward a number of different suggestions which have concerned me and many local residents.

You can make your voice heard by responding to the survey here before 31 August.

I recently had the privilege of welcoming my Conservative Party and House of Commons colleague, Robbie Moore MP, to the Borders.

As Shadow Farming Minister in the UK Parliament, Robbie has been holding Labour to account for the divisive and damaging policies they have introduced in government, such as the cruel Family Farm Tax and the increase in National Insurance.

On his trip north, Robbie and ** I visited Rulesmain Farm near Duns ([link removed])
, a well-run family farm which is confronting new challenges as a result of Labour's business taxes.

We also had an insightful and interesting ** visit to Farne Salmon in Duns, ([link removed])
an outstanding local business producing high-quality smoked salmon and employing over 600 people in the Borders.

If I can help you with anything, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,

John Lamont MP
