John,
Baby octopuses, bred in secret labs. Then brutally frozen to death just so
greedy corporations can factory-farm these intelligent creatures for
profit. It's horrific – but Spain could be about to stop this dystopian
nightmare before it starts!
Right now, politicians are considering a world-first law to outlaw this
horrific industry and ban the sale of factory farmed octopus
from anywhere.
This is HUGE! But the factory farm industry won’t back down quietly. It's
most likely already lobbying hard behind closed doors to kill the bill
before it reaches a vote. So we have to be louder than them.
If all of us chip in we could build massive pressure on lawmakers with
bold ads, hard-hitting global media coverage, opinion polling, and an
overwhelming lobbying push to make sure politicians vote this bill
through to the next stage – and keep defending our natural world from
corporate exploitation. The vote could happen in weeks so we have to move
fast!
Together, we won a historic octopus ban in California – now let’s do it in
Spain. Can you chip in to save the octopuses?

Octopuses are some of the most intelligent and sensitive creatures on
Earth. They play, problem-solve, and may even dream. But to the companies
backing this industry, they’re nothing more than units of meat.
Once factory farms are built, they’re nearly impossible to shut down.
That’s why this moment to push through a total ban in Spain is so
critical. We’re not trying to undo the damage – we’re trying to prevent it
altogether.
Thanks to pressure from thousands of Ekō members, we’ve already helped
force companies like Nueva Pescanova to shelve their farm plans. And in
California, it was our public pressure that helped pass the state ban on
octopus farming!
Now, we can go even further, and make Spain a global leader in animal
protection.
The proposed bill, drafted by INTERCIDS and submitted to Spain’s
Parliament, would amend national Law 23/1984 to ban octopus farming and
the sale of farmed octopuses outright, closing a legal loophole before
it’s too late.
This is our best shot to stop this cruel industry before it begins. But to
get it passed, we need to unleash an overwhelming lobbying push that blows
the octopus farming lobbyists out of the water.
Our team is ready to hit the ground running, but we urgently need your
help to make this massive. Can you chip in to help ban octopus farms – and
fuel all our work to defend our natural world?
