If you’ve ever participated in a Vote Forward campaign, you’re in great company! Hundreds of thousands of volunteers just like you are working every day to contact as many voters as possible and maximize turnout in key races.
And now that the results of our 2024 campaigns are in, we’re being as transparent as possible in sharing what we’ve found:
Our letters had a measurable impact on turnout for low-propensity and overseas voters.
Letter writing is still an effective tactic, but we need to be increasingly strategic and innovative in how and where we use it.
We also need to keep innovating on new tactics beyond letter writing to reach voters.
What does that innovation look like right now? In our current campaign to contact voters in the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court elections, we’re testing a new approach: Letters that invite voters to contact us back in an attempt to build deeper relationships between volunteers and voters.
This is just the first step in our four-year plan to run strategic experiments that will produce important learnings ahead of the next presidential election. We’re thinking big, even beyond letters, but executing that plan requires resources.
And the only reason we’re able to test and refine these tactics at scale in the first place is because of our network of hundreds of thousands of volunteers just like you.
Although we’ll never send you spammy fundraising emails that clog up your inbox like some other organizations out there, tonight’s fundraising deadline is important enough that we knew we needed to ask for your support.
That’s because maximizing turnout in important races requires that we start early. Running rigorous scientific experiments like the ones we’re planning isn’t easy, and it requires a considerable amount of resources.
As a volunteer-driven organization, nothing we do is possible without the support of people like you—from recruiting new volunteers to testing the effectiveness of new, cutting edge tactics.
So if you’re in a position to donate, making a contribution of any amount ahead of tonight’s end-of-quarter deadline is one of the best ways you can make an impact today.
And if you can’t, that’s okay too. We understand many Vote Forward volunteers already contribute not only their time, but their money toward stamps and supplies. If cost is a barrier to your participation, please check out our stamp and letter kit program.
