Friends,

Today we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, foster dads, bonus dads, uncles, and mentors in our lives who have helped us become who we are.

I will admit, Father's Day looks different this year. And while many of us can't be physically close to the father figures in our lives, I want to take a moment to acknowledge all of those who help lift our families and communities.

My father worked long, hard hours -- sometimes away from home for months at a time -- so that my three sisters, my mom and me were taken care of growing up. It's from my dad that I learned to measure my successes in terms of their impact on others. And to this day, I keep the lessons he taught me close - from supporting workers in good union jobs to raising a family, to persisting through challenges and fighting for what's right.

And of course, today I celebrate my husband David for being an incredible father to Thomas, Dean, Christian, Grace and Caroline. He imparts his wisdom, expectations and infectious laugh on all of us and makes this whole parenting-while-legislating thing possible. We love you!

Happy Father's Day. I hope you're able to enjoy a restful Sunday with the ones you love. Stay safe.

Best,

Lori
