While this is a recap of our activities in June, I thought it would be good to begin with a reminder that just four days after the end of the month we will celebrate 249 years of our nation’s independence. Whether you choose to celebrate Independence Day by grilling out with neighbors, watching fireworks, or attending a baseball game, I hope you take time to reflect on the core ideas and beliefs upon which our nation was founded. This year, we are celebrating much more than 249 years of our country. We are celebrating 249 years of the United States being a beacon of religious freedom and free speech in the world, and 249 years of being a nation that stands for liberty and justice for all.
Next year will be an even larger celebration as we prepare to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial. As a proud member of the America250 Congressional Caucus, I would like to encourage you to visit the America250 website here to learn more about how you can get involved and celebrate 250 years of our great nation.
I invite you to read below to learn more about the work my staff and I are doing on your behalf.
