John,
Beto kicked off his weekend by hosting a town hall Friday night in San
Antonio, with Joaquín Castro, Ron Nirenberg, and James Talarico. The
auditorium was packed and the energy was electric—people showed up to
fight for the future of our state and our country.

Then on Saturday, Beto traveled to Laredo for a town hall:

Beto answered questions about the future of the Democratic Party and how
we need a Democratic Party that meets with the people and isn’t sterilely
driven by consultants. The Old Guard of the Democratic Party had their
shot in 2024 and they blew it. We want to thank them for their service and
now turn the page.
We don’t check party affiliation at the door of these town halls, everyone
is welcome. This is how we will win up and down the ballot in 2026 and
2028. By meeting people face to face, organizing in every county—no matter
how red or blue, and talking to people who have previously been written
off.
